Welcome to the John Fox, Jr. House and Museum located at 117 Shawnee Avenue E., in the historic town of Big Stone Gap, nestled in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of Virginia.  This unique property was home to one of the most popular authors of the early twentieth century.

       John Fox, Jr. lived in the house many years, writing short stories and novels.  The home is now registered as a Virginia Historic Landmark as well as a National Historic Landmark.

       Step back in time and visit the home that was a part of this famous author's writing career.  Knowledgeable tour guides give insightful narratives and are eager to share their love of the house and the area with all visitors.

 

 

The John Fox Jr. House and Museum is owned and operated by the Lonesome Pine Arts & Crafts, Inc., a not-for-profit entity.
